Refund policy
Important: Alcohol sales are regulated by state law. Please review this policy carefully before placing an order.

1. Alcohol Returns – Legal Restrictions
Under Illinois Alcoholic Beverage Control law, alcoholic beverages cannot be returned once sold, except in cases of verified defects.
Returns for reasons other than defects are not permitted.
2. Defective Products
A product may be considered defective if it exhibits:
- Cork taint
- Leakage due to packaging failure
- Obvious spoilage present at the time of opening
Defective product returns must meet all of the following conditions:
- Reported within 30 days of purchase
- Accompanied by the original receipt
- Subject to review and verification by Drip Liquor
Approved resolutions may include:
- Replacement (subject to availability), or
- Store credit (no cash refunds)
3. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are not eligible for return or refund:
- Products damaged due to heat, cold, or improper storage
- Items damaged after delivery
- Products older than five (5) years from the most recent vintage
- Cosmetic issues such as minor label damage or seepage that do not affect product integrity
4. Older & Vintage Products
Drip Liquor maintains temperature-controlled storage and proper provenance.
Wines and spirits more than five years past their most recent vintage are sold as-is and are not guaranteed.
5. Heat, Cold & Environmental Exposure
Alcohol products are sensitive to temperature fluctuations.
Damage caused by heat, cold, or extended exposure during or after delivery is not eligible for return.
Customers are encouraged to consider:
- Weather conditions
- Shipping speed
- Delivery timing and availability

6. Order Cancellations
Orders may be canceled before shipment and are subject to a 10% restocking fee.
Once an order has shipped:
- Cancellations are not permitted
- Returns (if accepted) are subject to:
- A 10% restocking fee
- Return shipping at the customer’s expense
Refunds are issued only after the returned item is received and inspected.
7. Failed, Refused, or Undeliverable Shipments
If a delivery fails due to:
- Refusal
- Failed delivery attempts
- Incorrect address
- Failure to provide an adult signature
And the shipment is returned:
- A 10% restocking fee will apply
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable

8. Damaged or Lost Shipments
Drip Liquor packages all orders securely.
Claims for damaged or missing shipments must follow the procedures outlined in our Shipping Policy.
Orders shipped without insurance travel at the customer’s risk.
9. Title, Risk of Loss & Liability
Ownership and risk of loss transfer to the customer once the shipment is accepted by the carrier.
Drip Liquor is not liable for:
- Incidental, consequential, or indirect damages
- Losses caused by delivery holds, rescheduling, or carrier delays
10. Legal Compliance
By placing an order, you confirm compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws related to alcohol purchase and receipt.
Drip Liquor reserves the right to refuse or cancel orders where shipment is prohibited.
11. Force Majeure
Drip Liquor is not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Acts of God
- Severe weather
- Labor disputes
- Civil disturbances
- Fires or natural disasters
